Curriculum Vita

Dr. Garwood was born in a small town in the province of Ontario in Canada. His post High School education began at the University of Western Ontario, London, Ontario. He graduated from Medical School at the age of 23 in 1979. His post-graduate training in Ophthalmology was at the same institution. Further Fellowship sub-specialty training was obtained from McGill University under Dr. Seymour Brownstein in the field of Ocular Pathology. His final year of formal education was obtained with a Fellowship in Anterior Segment Surgery under Dr. Robert Sinskey in Santa Monica.

Dr. Garwood received licensure and certification in both Canada and United States. He now devotes his time exclusively in the US.

He is active at St. John's Hospital and Medical center, having served as the chief of Ophthalmology for 5 years, as well as having served on the Research and Bioethics committees
